Federal government seeks repayment of student loan allegedly in default

MIAMI – The federal government alleges a Miami-Dade County resident has defaulted on a student loan that was issued in 1988.

United States of America filed a complaint on Dec. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Luz Delgado alleging that the individual failed to settle a debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Delgado failed to pay the principal amount of a debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $1,387.34 plus interest of $3,009.50 plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Jennifer Margolis Marquez of Newman & Marquez PA in Coral Gables.
