Passenger claims slip, fall on Carnival ship caused injuries

Cruise 07

MIAMI – A South Carolina woman claims she was injured while traveling on the Carnival Fascination cruise ship.

Linda Wieters filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 30, 2016, she suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a slippery floor near the Atrium Bar because of ice on the floor. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep its floors clean and dry or provide adequate warning to passengers regarding the hazardous condition of the floor.

The plaintiff seeks damages, medical expenses, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by John H. Hickey of Hickey Law Firm PA in Miami.
