Housekeepers, room attendants allege Grand Beach Hotel did not pay overtime

MIAMI – Several Miami-Dade County residents allege their former employer did not pay them adequate overtime pay for extra hours they worked per week.

Ana Matus, Claudia Cabrera, Angelica Vasquez, Kelym Canales, et al. filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Dec. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against MB Florida Limited LLC, doing business as Grand Beach Hotel; Sunshine State Management LLC, doing business as PSEB; Alex Lopata; and Vadim Larionov citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they experienced discrimination while being employed by the defendants and were not paid the proper wages. The plaintiffs holds MB Florida Limited LLC, doing business as Grand Beach Hotel; Sunshine State Management LLC, doing business as PSEB; Lopata; and Larionov responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay proper overtime wages to the plaintiffs and the defendants allegedly did not give the plaintiffs the same benefits, privileges, etc. as other employees because they were born in Central America.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages, compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by R. Martin Saenz of Saenz & Anderson PLLC in Aventura.
