Law money 02

JACKSONVILLE — A services company is suing cargo vessel owners, alleging breach of contract and failure to pay $256,000 for completed work.

Meridian Global Consulting LLC filed a lawsuit Nov. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Jacksonville District against TrueNorth Operations Group, Teras Cargo Transport LLC and M/V Seattle, alleging they breached their duties of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, Meridian Global provided labor and services to M/V Seattle and its sister vessel M/V Norfolk from December 2015 through October 2016. However, the suit says, there remains an unpaid balance of $256,000 for services rendered.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed to pay for the necessaries the plaintiff has provided, and caused Meridian Global to retain and pay for counsel.

Meridian Global Consulting seeks trial by jury, judgment for the principal amount of $256,000 with interest, attorney fees and court costs, plus all further relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Robert Neilson of Burr & Forman LLP in Jacksonville.
