Life Insurance Company of North America accused of wrongly denying benefits

Insurance 10

MIAMI — A man is suing Life Insurance Company of North America, citing alleged breach of contract.

Lorenzo Fuertes filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging that the insurance firm wrongfully terminated his disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled and was initially being paid disability benefits, but that the benefits were then terminated. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Company of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to terminate the plaintiff's disability benefits despite having sufficient evidence to support his claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid long-term disability benefits plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Edward Philip Dabdoub and Geannina Burgos of Wagar Dabdoub, P.A. in Miami.
