Class action suit field against Stormproof Inc. due to alleged failure to pay overtime wages

MIAMI — An employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Stormproof Inc., Gonzalo A. Montero and Fernando L. Orozco, employer, citing alleged unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Mario L. Melo filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Oct. 25, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against the defendants alleging that they failed to pay fair compensation to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Stormproof Inc., Gonzalo A. Montero and Fernando L. Orozco responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeds 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, unpaid minimum wages plus interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Zandro E. Palma of Zandro E. Palma, P.A. in Miami.
