GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A Middleburg County couple has filed suit over injuries allegedly sustained in an accident on Blanding Boulevard in Clay County.
James Edward Tennant and Stephanie Tennant filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the
4th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Clay County
Handi-House Manufacturing Co. and Thomas D. Love alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 27, 2015,
at around 12:50 p.m.,
was driving on Blanding Boulevard when Thomas, driving a
tractor-trailer, made an improper left turn in front of the plaintiff's oncoming vehicle and stopped, which caused plaintiff to crash into the right side of the trailer. The plaintiff alleges the incident resulted in injuries, including disfigurement, disability, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and loss of consortium to his wife, Stephanie Tennant.
The plaintiffs hold Handi-House Manufacturing Co. and Love responsible because Love allegedly failed to maintain and operate the truck in a reasonably safe manner, to maintain a proper lookout and to maintain a safe and proper speed.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against all defendants, damages of more than $75,000, costs of action, interest, and other relief that the court may deem just.
