Motorist blames Takata airbag for injuries in accident

Car accident 21

ORLANDO – A woman alleges she was injured in an accident because of a defective, exploding airbag system.

Cecelia Dowdye filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court Court for Orange County against the Takata Corp., Takata Inc., TK Holdings Inc., et al alleging strict liability, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in July, she sustained physical injuries as the result of the airbag system on her vehicle violently exploding after an automobile accident. The plaintiff holds Takata Corp., Takata Inc., TK Holdings Inc., et al responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured an uncrashworthy, defective and unreasonably dangerous airbag system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages plus interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Andrew Parker Felix of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
