MIAMI – A California woman who took a cruise on the Norwegian Spirit alleges malfunctioning doors caused her injuries.
Susan Dial filed a complaint on Sept. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 18, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when a sliding glass door suddenly closed, striking her and causing her to fall hitting her head and fracturing her left ankle. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly maintain the sliding doors of its vessel or provide adequate warning to plaintiff regarding its hazardous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, all medical expenses, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Keith S. Brais, Richard D. Rusak and Julieth A. Fresco of Brais Brais Rusak in Miami.
