Slip02

MIAMI — A former passenger has filed suit against a cruise line after she allegedly slipped and fell on a wet walkway.

Virginia Berney filed a complaint Sept. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, alleging that the cruise ship company failed to properly maintain the walkway of their vessel.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 17, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell on a slippery floor. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep the walkway of the vessel dry.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages and interest. She is represented by Michael D. Eriksen of Eriksen Law Firm in West Palm Beach.
