Couple allegedly failed to pay housekeeper overtime

MIAMI — A domestic household employee has filed suit against her previous employers for alleged unpaid overtime and wrongful termination after nine years of employment with them.

Rosaria Pinnisi filed a complaint Aug. 31 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against Nikki Mallon and Gary M. Feinberg, alleging that they failed to fairly compensate her for all of the hours she worked.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between August 2007 and May 8, 2016, she worked for more than 40 hours each week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Nikki Mallon and Gary M. Feinberg responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated the plaintiff's employment as retaliation for complaining about not being fairly compensated for her work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, back pay and other benefits denied, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Zandro E. Palma of The Palma Law Group in Miami.
