PALM BEACH – A clerical employee alleges hours were deducted from his time records by his employer.
Patrick Williams filed a complaint on Aug. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Palm Beach Division against Brooklyn Water Enterprises LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 2014 and September 2015, he worked for more than 40 hours per week for the defendant without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Brooklyn Water Enterprises LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly deducted hours from his time records and paid him an artificial rate to make it seem as if it was paying him overtime.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation plus liquidated damages in an equal amount, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Noah E. Storch and Richard Celler of Richard Celler Legal PA in Davie.
