Passenger accuses Carnival of negligence after injuring knee on cruise ship

Cruise 01

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County cruise line is facing a suit from a Spring Hill woman over an alleged knee injury that happened while she was on a cruise.

Andrea Ingoglia filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 20, 2015, she suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a substance left on the floor in the dining room of the ship Paradise. She alleges the incident caused a torn meniscus in her knee. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the hazardous condition of the floor and allowing the condition to exist.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Joel M. Barnett of Waks & Barnett PA in Miami.
