Walt Disney World employee alleges she is owed disability benefits

ORLANDO – An Orange County woman and employee of Walt Disney World alleges she is entitled to disability benefits.

Janet Freytes Dever filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she believes she is entitled to benefits as of May 17, 2015.

The plaintiff holds Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay benefits intended for plaintiff and was operating under a conflict of interest in its decision making.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in her favor, disability benefits, attorney's fees and costs of suit. She is represented by Herbert M. Hill and Michael Ann Woodard of Herbert M. Hill PA in Orlando.
