Government alleges woman defaulted on student loan

FORT MYERS – A Lee County resident is alleged to have defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division against Marjorie Bachman alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Bachman allegedly failed to pay plaintiff for the principal amount of her debt plus interest on a loan through the U.S. Department of Education.

The plaintiff seeks sum of $29,525.06 for the current principal amount and $23,158.65 for the interest balance, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Steven M. Davis of Becker & Poliakoff PA in Coral Gables.
