Former employee claims AMS Inc. owes unpaid overtime wages

Law money 09

FORT MYERS – A Lee County man alleges his former Pompano Beach employer claims he was not paid an overtime rate for extra hours worked.

Jacob Keller filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Aug. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division against AMS Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 2014 and November 2015, he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek as a roof installer without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds AMS Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime premiums at rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked that exceeds 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Jason L. Gunter and Conor P. Foley of Jason L. Gunter PA in Fort Myers.
