Law money 05

MIAMI – A man alleges he was not paid overtime wages while formerly employed for a Broward County company.

Jose Maria Cano filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Aug. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Hi Tech Solutions USA Corp. and Jairo Castrillon alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between December 2013 and December 2015, he worked for approximately 26 hours of overtime per week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Hi Tech Solutions USA Corp. and Castrillon responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked that exceeds 40 in a week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages for unpaid overtime wages plus interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Anthony M. Georges-Pierre of Remer & Georges-Pierre PLLC in Miami.
