Law money 12

MIAMI — A consumer is suing Pinnacle Credit Services LLC, a debt collector, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.

Sophia Lauture filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Pinnacle Credit Services LLC, alleging that the debt collector failed to list the account as "disputed by customer" despite receiving the plaintiff's dispute letter.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2015 and 2016, she suffered damages to her credit report. The plaintiff holds Pinnacle Credit Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to list the plaintiff's disputed account upon receiving plaintiff's dispute letter as required by the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA).

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
