MIAMI — A passenger alleges that she slipped on tile on a cruise ship and injured her knee.

Jenni Gile filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, she sustained physical injuries to her knee. The suit states employees had recently sprayed the area with water as part of their cleaning routine, but no signs had been posted to indicate the floor was wet. The plaintiff holds Norwegian Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep the floor of the ship dry and did provide adequate warning to passengers regarding the hazardous condition of the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, all medical expenses, interest and any other relief as the court deems suitable. She is represented by William D. Minnix, Matthias M. Hayashi and Spencer Marc Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
