Celebrity Reflection accused of negligence over allegedly slippery gangway

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A woman alleges she was injured when she slipped on a gangway on a cruise ship.

Miriam Diaz filed a complaint on Aug. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Celebrity Cruises Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 23, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell on the gangway while exiting the defendant's Celebrity Reflection. The plaintiff holds Celebrity Cruises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement ways to keep the gangway safe for disembarking passengers, such as making it slip-resistant.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages. She is represented by David W. Singer of David W. Singer & Associates PA in Hollywood.
