Medical transporter files class-action suit against Pasteur Medical Group for unpaid overtime

Law money 05

MIAMI — A former employee has filed a class-action suit against Pasteur Medical Group LLC and manager Jose Sotolongo after he alleges he wasn't paid overtime for additional hours worked at home beyond the 40-hour work week.

Amado Santana filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Aug. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against the defendants, alleging that they failed to fairly compensate him for all of the hours he worked.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 1, 2014, and July 22 he worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Pasteur Medical Group LLC, also known as Pasteur Medical Center, and Jose Sotolongo responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, unpaid overtime compensation plus interest, double damages/liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems appropriate. He is represented by Zandro E. Palma of Zandro E. Palma, P.A. in Miami.
