MIAMI – A Broward County business alleges its cargo of mangos was damaged in transport and has filed a suit against the carrier.

Carbamericas Inc. filed a complaint on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Interocean Lines Inc. alleging that the foreign corporation failed to deliver plaintiff's cargo in good condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in December 2015 and January, it suffered damages to its business as the result of its cargo of mangos being damaged in transport by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Interocean Lines, Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly did not discharge the cargo within the normal transit time of eight days, causing the damage.

The plaintiff seeks $24,679.95 plus fees, charges and expenses, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Guillermo Luis Dominguez of Fowler Rodriguez LLP in Miami.
