MIAMI – A housekeeper alleges she was not paid minimum wages by her former employer.
Pauline M. Love filed a complaint on July 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against KHRG Employer LLC, doing business as Surfcomber Hotel, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was injured on the job in September 2014 required medical care. She claims that she was not paid for the travel time to the appointments as arranged by the defendant's third-party compensation and workers' compensation administrators. The plaintiff holds KHRG Employer LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay minimum wage to plaintiff for the travel time.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages and liquidated damages in an equal amount, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Brian H. Pollock of Fairlaw Firm in Miami.
