Phone 06

MIAMI – A Broward County woman alleges a Missouri debt collector called her repeatedly to collect a debt owed by another person.

Raquel Pistocchi filed a complaint on July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Medicredit Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was called on her cellular phone a number of times by the defendant in an attempt to collect an alleged debt owed by Ronald France Douphin. The plaintiff holds Medicredit Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly called plaintiff several times using an automatic dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction prohibiting the defendant from placing further calls to plaintiff, statutory and actual damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Jibrael S. Hindi of The Law Offices of Jibrael S. Hindi in Fort Lauderdale and Thomas J. Patti of Thomas-John Law PA in Fort Lauderdale.
