Suit filed against Waveguide Communications Inc. for allegedly unpaid wages

Law money 02

MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges he wasn't properly paid for all his hours worked by his employers.

Wilfredo Gonzalez filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Waveguide Communications Inc., James Sarakinis, Michael Dowd and Jere Heikkila alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek without being paid any overtime wages or being paid according to the legal minimum wage. The plaintiff holds Waveguide Communications Inc., Sarakinis, Dowd and Heikkila responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime compensation for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week at a rate of time-and-one-half.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages for his unpaid wages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Brian L. Lerner of Kim Vaughan Lerner LLP in Fort Lauderdale and John P. Salas of Salas Law Firm PA in Plantation.
