Freedom passenger accuses Carnival of negligence

Cruise 07

MIAMI – A passenger alleges she was injured while on a cruise due to the company's negligence.

Wanda Klonaris filed a complaint on June 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 17, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell because of a foreign substance on the floor on the cruise ship Freedom. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect its vessel for wet and slippery substances and failed to remove the substance from the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Sara Schafer and Jason Turchin of Law Offices of Jason Turchin in Weston.
