Woman alleges panel fell on her while she was on cruise ship

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A cruise ship passenger is suing the vessel's owner alleging she was injured while on the ship.

Samantha Urie filed a complaint on June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 13, 2015, she suffered severe injuries to her body when an electrical access panel fell onto her while aboard the Carnival Inspiration. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn guests of the hazardous and dangerous condition, failed to properly maintain and secure the access panel and other counts.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, interest and all legal fees. She is represented by Michael T. Flanagan of Flanagan Personal Injury & Wrongful Death Law Firm PA in Coral Gables.
