Woman alleges Nemaro Jewelers did not pay overtime wages

Law money 04

MIAMI – A salesperson has filed suit against her former jewelry store employer alleging she was not properly paid for all hours worked.

Raquel Paramo filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated under 29 U.S.C. 216(B) on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Nemaro Jewelers Inc. and Alex Perez alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per workweek but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Nemaro Jewelers Inc. and Perez responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation to plaintiff for all hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages and an equal amount as liquidated damages, all wages still owing, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by David Markel of The Markel Law Firm in Miami.
