Auto detailer files suit against former employers for allegedly unpaid overtime wages

Law money 12

ORLANDO – An auto detailer working at a car lot alleges he was not paid properly for working overtime.

Kijafa Mullins filed a complaint on May 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Southeast Supreme Cleaning Services Inc., David E. Stamm and Autonation Inc. alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during his employment from approximately September 2014 through May 2015, he routinely worked for more than 40 hours per week without receiving proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Southeast Supreme Cleaning Services Inc. David E. Stamm and Autonation Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay his overtime compensation at a rate of one-and-one-half of his regular rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for payment of unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs and any other relief that the court determines to be just and appropriate. He is represented by Carlos V. Leach of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
