Anthem of the Seas passenger alleges she was injured on ship

MIAMI – An Anthem of the Seas passenger alleges she was injured by an ice cream machine aboard the cruise ship.

Olena Goncharenko filed a complaint on April 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 10, 2015, she as injured when a metal door on a food-service container violently struck her head. She claims she suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly permitted its ice cream machine's door to be improperly secured, failed to warn passengers of such dangers and failed to adequately staff its food-service area.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgement against defendant for more than $75,000, plus costs. She is represented by David W. Singer of David W. Singer & Associates PA in Hollywood.
