Security officer alleges former employers did not pay him on time

Law money 12

MIAMI – A security officer has filed a class-action lawsuit against his former employers, alleging he was not paid in a timely fashion.

Jose Molieri filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Centurion Air Cargo Inc., Sky Lease I Inc., Sky Lease II Inc., Alfonso C. Rey and Marcos Montesano alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Oct. 5, 2013, and Nov. 6, 2015, he suffered damages for not receiving his paycheck on time. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly engaged in a practice of avoiding their obligation to pay employees on a timely manner as required by law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a declaration that defendants have violated the minimum wage provisions of the FLSA, compensation for liquidated damages in an amount equal to the unpaid wages and reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs. He is represented by Robert S. Norell of Robert S. Norell PA in Plantation.
