Cruise passenger files suit against Royal Caribbean over injury allegations

Cruise 01

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade man alleges that a cruise ship line created a dangerous and defective condition by allowing an unreasonably hot outdoor pool deck to remain on a ship.

Armando Sanchez-Agramonte filed a complaint on March 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on May 23, 2015, he severely burned his feet while standing on a dangerously hot pool deck aboard the Quantum of the Seas. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect and maintain the pool deck in safe condition, failed to take precautionary and preventive measures to protect its passengers and failed to warn passengers of the dangerous situation.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages for an amount of more than $75,000, plus all awards recoverable under the law. He is represented by Jonathan R. Friedland of Friedland Law Group in Coral Gables.
