Passenger files suit against cruise line over alleged injuries

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A Texas man alleges that a cruise line's negligence caused injuries to his shoulder.

Joshua Guzman filed a complaint on March 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 27, 2015, he slipped on overflow from the shower in his cabin, causing him serious and disabling injuries to his shoulder while aboard the vessel Carnival Magic. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper warning of the overflow or the slipping hazard.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, and any other relief which the court may deem appropriate. He is represented by Angela Arango-Chaffin of The Chaffin Law Firm in Miami Beach.
