Man sues company for alleged overtime violation

By The Florida Record | Mar 14, 2016

TAMPA — A Pasco County man is suing a Hillsborough County company, claiming he was not properly compensated for working overtime.

Tamas Hadaszy is suing Open Systems Technologies Inc., claiming violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The employee filed a complaint on March 7 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Tampa Division, alleging that the employer knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act provisions.

The plaintiff alleges that, since Feb. 3, 2014, he was required to work more than 40 hours per week, but was compensated for only 40 hours of work per week. He claims Open Systems Technologies Inc. did not pay him time and a half for all hours worked in excess of the 40-hour workweek.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for liquidated damages, pre-judgment interest, reasonable attorney's fees and costs and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Andrew J. Salzman of Unice Salzman Jensen, P.A. in Trinity.
