Vida Jets accused of not paying wages

MIAMI – Two Palm Beach County residents are suing their former employer over allegations of unpaid wages.

Naomi Baldino and Michael Blair filed a complaint on Feb. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Vida Jets LLC and Carmilo Beltran, alleging that they knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by improperly classifying the plaintiffs as independent contractors.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they have been damaged in the form of lost wages. The plaintiffs hold Vida Jets LLC and Beltran responsible because they allegedly refused to compensate them at a rate equal to the minimum wage and failed to pay time-and-one-half of their regular rate for each hour worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week.

The plaintiffs seek the following: compensation for liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Gary A. Isaacs of Gary A. Isaacs PA in North Palm Beach.
