Woman blames cruise line for injuries

Cruise

MIAMI — A Florida woman is suing a cruise ship line, claiming she was injured while aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's vessel Pride of America.

MIAMI — Norma L. Saget sued NCL America LLC on Feb. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division, alleging negligence and failure to warn.

The plaintiff alleges that, on Feb. 16, 2015, she was hit by an automatic closing door aboard the ship during a crew training drill, causing her to be thrown across a hall and causing injuries. The plaintiff holds NCL America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain its ship in a safe condition and failed to warn its passengers that the doors would or could close suddenly without warning during a drill.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for damages. She is represented by Mark R. Hanson of Tomberg, Hanson & Halper, LLC in Boynton Beach.
