Insurancefolder

MIAMI – A former JRD Management employee is suing her insurance company over its alleged denial of her long-term disability benefits.

Pamela Dent filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co., citing violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, from Dec. 27, 2014, to the present date, she has not received her long-term disability benefits. The plaintiff holds Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly investigate the merits of her disability claim.

The plaintiff seeks the following: an order for her immediate reinstatement to the plan, attorneys’ fees and costs, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, and any other relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Alexander A. Palamara and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell & Schaefer Chartered in Hollywood.
