Tier 1 Techs sued by former employee for allegedly unpaid overtime wages

Time

MIAMI – A former IT employee is suing his ex-employer over allegations that he wasn't paid overtime.

Menachem Roubini filed a complaint Feb. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Tier 1 Techs and Bensin Joseph alleging that they knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from 2012 to 2015, he was not compensated for his overtime work. The plaintiff holds Tier 1 Techs and Bensin Joseph responsible because they allegedly refused to pay overtime compensation for each hour worked in over 40 hours per work week. He also alleges that he was retaliated against and terminated when he complained about the FLSA violations.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, attorneys’ fees and costs and any other relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Chad Levy of Law Offices of Levy & Levy PA in Fort Lauderdale.
