MIAMI — A shipping company is suing an online boutique over allegations of patent infringement.

Florida-based Shipping and Transit LLC is suing What She Buys, a California company. The plaintiff filed suit on Feb. 5 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, accusing the defendant of willfully violating U.S. patent law.

The lawsuit claims that the defendant's use of an electronic tracking and notification system and shipping confirmation email service infringes on a patent held by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, pre-judgment interest, attorneys' fees and costs and all other relief that the court deems just and proper. Shippind and Transit LLC is represented by Jason P. Dollard of Leslie Robert Evans & Associates in Palm Beach, Florida.
