Passenger blames Carnival ship Inspiration for slip-and-fall injuries

Caution

MIAMI – A California woman is suing Carnival Corp., alleging that negligence led to injuries she sustained while riding as a passenger on Carnival’s Inspiration.

Lori Marie Diaz filed suit Jan. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, citing negligence as cause of her reported injuries.

According to the complaint, Diaz was a paying passenger aboard the defendant’s cruise ship the Inspiration on May 6, 2014, when she slipped and fell on a wet deck as she was walking on the Lafayette area on the vessel. The plaintiff alleges that the fall resulted in serious suffering, disability, medical expenses and lost wages, amongst other injuries. She claims the defendant had a duty and responsibility to provide a safe environment or warn passengers of potential dangers.

Diaz seeks damages of more than $75,000, interests and costs. She is represented by Glenn J. Holberg of the Law Office of Glenn J. Holzberg in Miami.
