Annette Fitterer has filed a lawsuit against Mavis Southeast LLC, doing business as Mavis Tires & Brakes, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case, identified by Case Number 24-001702-CI, was filed on April 17, 2024.

Represented by Phillips, Hayden & Labbee LLP, Fitterer alleges that Mavis Southeast LLC negligently failed to properly reattach her car's hood during a repair job on August 22, 2023. This negligence led to a car crash when the hood flew off and slammed into her windshield while she was driving at around 60-65 mph on August 28, 2023.

The incident resulted in severe and permanent injury to Fitterer and significant damage to her vehicle. The claim for damages exceeds $50,000 exclusive of costs, interest and attorneys’ fees.

Fitterer is seeking judgment against Mavis Southeast LLC in an amount exceeding $50,000 along with any further relief deemed just and proper by the court. She also requests a trial by jury of all issues triable as of right by a jury.
