In the 68th Judicial District of Pinellas County, Florida, plaintiff Bruce Jacobs has filed a lawsuit against the City of Clearwater. The case, bearing the number 24-001392-CI and filed on March 27, 2024, seeks damages for an incident that occurred at Bay Care Ball Park baseball stadium.

Represented by attorney José A. Negroni of Negroni Law Group, LLC, Jacobs alleges that he was injured due to negligence on the part of the defendant. On March 3, 2023, while attending a baseball game at Bay Care Ball Park, Jacobs' chair in Section 104, Row 5, Seat 15 collapsed causing him to fall through. He asserts that the City of Clearwater failed to maintain a safe environment and neglected to repair or warn about the hazardous condition of his seat.

Jacobs is seeking over $50,000 in damages as a result of physical injuries sustained from the incident. These injuries include pain and suffering, medical expenses related to treatment of his injuries, physical handicap and permanent loss of bodily function.
