Lynetta Piner sues Tooraz Hospitality for negligence resulting in physical harm

Lynetta Piner has filed a lawsuit against Tooraz Hospitality, LLC, doing business as Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, in the Circuit Court of the 67th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case, bearing the ID 24-001355-CI, was filed on March 25, 2024 and alleges negligence on part of the defendant resulting in physical harm to the plaintiff.

The complaint details that Piner, a resident of Inverness, Citrus County, Florida was a guest at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott located at 3211 Executive Dr., Clearwater, Florida from March 31 to April 2, 2023. During her stay at the hotel owned and operated by Tooraz Hospitality LLC., she discovered multiple welts and bites on her body which were later diagnosed as bedbug bites and a scabies infection.

Piner is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries sustained due to alleged negligence by Fairfield Inn & Suites. The complaint accuses the hotel of failing to maintain its premises in a safe and clean condition leading to unsafe conditions including bed bugs and scabies infestation.
