Hot sauce company accuses another of trademark infringement

One Florida-based hot sauce company alleges another has infringed on its' trademark rights by illegally owning and using a domain name.

Hogtown Seasonings LLC filed its complaint in federal court against Redacted Hot Sauce LLC, Florida Man Hot Sauce Company LLC and Stephen Kephart. The suit alleges that the defendants have infringed on Hogtown Seasonings' trademark rights by illegally owning and using the domain name floridamanhotsaucecompany.com.

Hogtown Seasonings claims it has continuously used the 'Florida Man's Lunacy' trademark since 2019 for its hot sauce products and owns all associated rights and goodwill. The plaintiff also operates the floridamanslunacy.com and floridamanhotsauce.com domain names.

The complaint further states Kephart is a managing member of both defendant companies and claims to be the owner of the 'Florida Man Hot Sauce Company' mark.
