In the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, Pinellas County, a civil action lawsuit has been filed by Verilyn Lunsford against Orlando Health, Inc., also known as Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. The case, bearing the number 24-001096-ClI, was filed on March 7, 2024.

Represented by attorneys Chad M. Pilon and Austin J. Chambers from Chambers|Pilon, P.A., Lunsford alleges negligence on part of Orlando Health leading to personal injury. The incident occurred on October 9, 2021 at a property owned and operated by Orlando Health in St. Petersburg where Lunsford fell due to a foreign substance on the floor.

The complaint outlines several ways in which Orlando Health allegedly failed to maintain safe conditions at their premises including failure to inspect the floor space for foreign objects or substances and failure to warn invitees of potential hazards. As a result of this negligence, Lunsford suffered bodily injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish among other damages.

Lunsford is seeking judgment against Orlando Health for damages exceeding $50,000 plus costs of proceedings and any other remedy allowable by law. She demands a trial by jury on all issues that are triable.
