Holland & Knight Partner and veteran litigator Dan Small has authored a new book, Lessons Learned from a Life on Trial, published by the American Bar Association (ABA). The book includes stories of landmark cases that Mr. Small worked on and provides insight on what these cases can teach trial lawyers. The book was released on February 8 and is available to purchase here.

In Lessons Learned, Mr. Small brings together his knowledge of trials and teaching, where his stories of real cases from around the country are entertaining, thought-provoking and enlightening. Mr. Small's teachings are invaluable for both young lawyers and experienced hands, as this book serves as a tool for practicing attorneys to become better trial lawyers and more appreciative students of the process.

Mr. Small, a partner in Holland & Knight's Boston and Miami offices, is a former federal prosecutor. His extensive litigation practice focuses on witness preparation, government and internal investigations, white collar criminal law and complex civil litigation.

Mr. Small has written several books on litigation for the ABA, including Preparing Witnesses and Going To Trial, that are used in continuing legal education (CLE) programs he gives throughout the country. He is also a frequent television, radio and newspaper commentator, as well as the host of Holland & Knight's Powerful Witness Prep and Trial Lawyer's Handbook podcast series.
