FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County woman is suing a local medical center, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Michelle Bryner filed a complaint Oct. 6 in Broward County Circuit Court against Columbia Hospital Corporation of South Broward doing business as Westside Regional Medical Center, alleging failure to to use ordinary care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 13, 2014, Bryner was at the Westside Medical Center in Plantation to visit a patient, when she unknowingly stepped on a liquid substance and slipped and fell violently to the ground. As a result, the suit says, Bryner suffered serious and severe injuries that required extensive and costly medical care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Westside Regional Medical Center failed to properly inspect its premises to remove hazards, and failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition.

Bryner seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Robert M. Roselli and Daniel P. Melrose of Roselli & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
