American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida allegedly breached insurance contract

Insurance 03

ORLANDO — An individual is suing American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida for alleged breach of contract.

Michael S. Pankow filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that his property sustained undisclosed damages on or about Sept. 23, 2016. However, the defendant allegedly has refused to properly reimburse him for repairs.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to consider and pay him for the entirety of the damages, and for allegedly forcing him to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect his interests.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for the loss with interest on overdue payments, interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Dave T. Sooklal of Anthony-Smith Law PA in Orlando.
