American integrity Insurance Company of Florida accused of breach of contract

Insurance 05

ORLANDO — An individual is suing American integrity Insurance Company of Florida for alleged breach of contract.

Amalia Mateiu filed a complaint on July 21 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her property sustained damages on April 4, 2016. Though the plaintiff allegedly complied with all post-loss obligations, the defendant allegedly maintains that the damages are excluded from coverage.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly obligating her to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect her interests, and for allegedly refusing to pay the full amount of her insurance claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, declaratory judgment, attorney's fees and court costs. She is represented by Kenneth R. Duboff of Duboff Law Firm in North Miami.
