Hunters Creek Nursing and Rehab Center accused of negligence

Medical malpractice 05

ORLANDO — An estate representative is suing Sovereign Healthcare of Orlando LLC d/b/a Hunters Creek Nursing and Rehab Center and Southern Healthcare Management LLC for alleged negligence and wrongful death.

Yuderkis Gonzalez filed a complaint on July 6 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to exercise the standard care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her father, Lucilo Gonzales, suffered various physical injuries, including embarrassment, loss of dignity, mental and physical pain and suffering and untimely death, allegedly as a result of defendants' violations of his right to effective medical treatment.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to appropriately monitor and recognize changes in the patient's health conditions, and for allegedly failing to hire, supervise and maintain qualified staff with adequate knowledge, skills and experience.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages, costs, interest and further relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Joshua A. Machlus of Colling Gilbert Wright & Carter LLC in Orlando.
